In my experience, ungodly legalism calls something sin that is preference, cultural or a personal conviction.

      My examples:
      Women should not wear makeup.
Women should never dye their hair.
There is only one acceptable Bible translation.
It is a sin to celebrate or observe Easter or Christmas.
We can only worship on Day X. It is the only holy day.

May the Lord continue to deliver us from ungodly legalism. It’s a trap that works death according to the Word.

A young girl is seduced and then raped by a church elder. (Spiritual abuse, molestation, rape, violation, hatred of women, antichrist, lust, control, Jezebel)
She becomes pregnant and is then rejected by her family. (Rejection, abandonment, shame, curse of the bastard)

She rejects the child and is loveless towards him. (Abuse, neglect, rejection, abandonment)
She murders him in her heart. (Murder, unloving, rejection)

She is cruel to him, perfectionistic, and denies love, approval, attention and validation to him.
She is in bitterness, a victim spirit and unforgiveness. She is pulled towards works-righteousness and legalism in order to overcome the shame and other emotional and spiritual torments.

Uggg. Praise God for the Gospel, the blood of Jesus, the love of God and deliverance!!

Repentance breaks the power of sin cycles and iniquity. It releases righteousness and boldness towards God. It needs to be a daily, hourly lifestyle of the DM and hopefully the PRM. It’s hard to overstate the power and importance of repentance. It is agreement with God’s Word and assessment of our hearts and motives. It aligns us with Holy Spirit and it exposes hidden evil in our hearts and behaviors. It keeps an open path to the Lord and enables us to run to Him boldly, without fear and without condemnation.

Conversely, pride, religion, and worldliness all block repentance. Pride says, ” I’m already good.” or “I’m better than him.” Religion puffs one up on a false scale created by man and religious duty. Worldliness dulls the heart, and gives a false satisfaction. Only deep, honest, consistent repentance as a lifestyle keeps us on the Highway of Holiness, where we can show His glory to others and those to whom we minister.

              Hello:
              There are so many:

STP: I don’t need to be born again- I was raised Lutheran.
STP: Women should not be active in ministry. ( I believed that for a very long time….It took a prophet, a book, and then going to ministry school (2) to get free. And then I sat under Patricia King in her online church.

Extreme views of modesty and dress- that you addressed in the previous thread…I also felt responsible for men lusting and became hyper-modest for a season.

STP: I am defined by **anything** outside of Jesus. (Being a good Mom, ministry, appearance, friends, being liked, etc_)

              Great topic!

                My verse is here:

His message was this: “At last the fulfillment of the age has come! It is time for God’s kingdom to be experienced in its fullness! Turn your lives back to God and put your trust in the hope-filled gospel!”
                Mark 1: 15 TPT

His message was this: “At last the fulfillment of the age has come! It is time for God’s kingdom to be experienced in its fullness! Turn your lives back to God and put your trust in the hope-filled gospel!” Mark 1:15 AMP

I’m really blessed by these verses and this one – Mt 4:17
Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand (Jesus)

AMP: From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “[a]Repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life], for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Repentence is the DOOR. The Kingdom of heaven is at hand- near- right next to you- REPENT so you may enter into the Kingdom right here. It’s a door into the Kingdom of Heaven! Powerful verses and lecture on the need for constant repentance (from a heart of son-ship knowing He is the Good Father who runs to us the minute we turn our hearts back to righteousness.) I also find it powerful to repent of hidden sins, mindsets and attitudes that we didn’t know were sin, were passive about, or were even hidden from us by the enemy or sins in the bloodline.

Thank you Jesus for repentance! May I repent quickly and easily. May I respond to the gentle nudges of Holy Spirit, when I’ve grieved Him and may I be obedient in this area always.

                Blessings,

                April in VA

                    Hi class!
I’m April and a new student here. I’m so excited to be learning more about two of my favorite topics!
I live in Northern Va, outside of Washington Dc. I’m an elementary French teacher and active in ministry at my church. I used to teach Special Ed Math and I homeschooled for a while. I have five awesome kids, am a single mom and deliverance has radically changed my life!

I write and connect to women’s issues, people leaving cults and spiritual deception, and overcoming abuse/rejection/trauma. BUT I’m open to where God leads in this ministry and in general.

                    God is so good!

Looking forward to what He does in us and through us!

                    April
