But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.
Why I love this verse; Because it talks of the faithfulness of God to forgive us. HIS faithfulness – not ours. We can be sure that if we have confessed, he has forgiven. Also, I love that he cleanses us too. Sin just feels icky. It leaves us with guilt, shame and even ungodly memories. But this cleansing removes all that. I love the cleansing! It feels like what the lepers must have felt like when they were declared clean.
