Reply To: Repentance Is the Foundation
Genesis 6:5-8
21st Century King James Version
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagining of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And the Lord repented that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him in His heart.
7 And the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, and the creeping thing and the fowls of the air, for I repent that I have made them.”
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord
Well, these verses show me that God can experience repentance and since we are made in His image, we can too. It also demonstrates that when there is real repentance, drastic changes happen. When God repented of having made mankind there was a drastic change in His plans for mankind. A plan B. is what Noah had to build. So real repentance requires a 180 degree change in our direction.
